What's new

Every release, newest first. Glintshot updates itself in the background (the Linux .deb package is updated by installing the new version); you'll see a small note when one is ready.

  1. 0.1.0 Coming soon

    The first public beta.

    • Region, window, full screen and scrolling capture, on every display at once.
    • Burst: frames from a video or slide deck, up to 10 a second, one each time the picture changes or one each time you press, then keep the ones you want or save them as a GIF.
    • Eight annotation tools that stay editable until you close the capture: arrow, line, box, pen, text, highlight, blur and numbered steps.
    • Copied the moment you let go. Drag the Copied card straight into any app, or press Save.
    • Send to Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor or any app you add, with Paste automatically. Share to X, LinkedIn and Reddit, to AirDrop, Messages and Mail on Mac, and to the Windows share window.
    • Copy text, Auto-redact and Smart file names, read on your own computer.
    • Ask about a capture and alt text, with a local model, your own API key or a command.
    • Smart snap: hover a button or panel and click to select exactly that.
    • Everything that runs on your computer is free, with no daily limits. Pro, for features that need our servers, is on the way.
