Where ShareX is the better choice
On Windows, ShareX does almost everything: dozens of upload destinations, workflows that chain actions after a capture, screen recording, and it’s free and open source. If you live on Windows and like to configure things, it’s hard to beat.
Where Glintshot fits
- Mac and Linux. The same app and keys on Mac, Windows and Linux, so moving between computers doesn’t mean learning another tool.
- Simple by design. Press a key, drag, mark it up, and it’s copied, with no workflows to set up first.
- Secrets found for you. Auto-redact blurs emails, card numbers and API keys before you share.
- Nothing uploaded. Captures stay on your computer unless you send them to an app yourself.
